Although someone may look different or has to work harder at a skill, that does not mean that they are not smart. We all have things we are good at and things we have to work hard at.
Each year, Franklin PTA hosts Ability Awareness Week to recognize and celebrate that we are all differently-abled. The week includes fun activities that allow us to celebrate and experience our varied abilities. Participation in these activities helps convey the message to our students that we all share the same needs for respect, acceptance, inclusion, and friends.
If you are interested in volunteering during the week, or have questions about Ability Awareness Week, contact program Chair Christy Sawler.
