It is the policy of AUSD that any adult volunteer who will be alone with students without a teacher present must be fingerprinted. If you are volunteering in the classroom, you do not need to undergo this process. However, if you wish to accompany your child on a field trip as a chaperone, you must be fingerprinted through the process below in order to do so.
Step 1: Pick up “Request for Live Scan Service” form: You can get a LiveScan form from the Franklin front office. There is a $36 FEE – Cash Only (exact change) or money order. |
Step 2: Fingerprinting Fingerprints are electronically scanned in a process called Live Scan. There are several outlets in Alameda that have the Live Scan program (see below). Once you go, the form will be filled out by the store or law enforcement employee. They keep the original form. They will give you 2 copies (1 for your records and 1 to submit to AUSD HR). Live Scan (fingerprinting) services are available at the following locations in Alameda: Island Notary & LiveScan UPS Store – Bay Farm UPS Store Marina Village Alameda Police Dept (by appointment) |
Step 3: Return form to AUSD HR |
Step 4: AUSD HR will verify the results of the Live Scan They will notify Franklin’s front office. |
